Ambassador administers oath to elected office bearers of MAAP

Islamabad, February 2, 2024: His Excellency Mr. Wada Mitsuhiro, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and Patron-in-Chief of the MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP), administered oath to the newly elected office bearers of the MAAP Central Executive Committee and the KP Regional Chapter today at the Islamabad Club. Welcoming the Ambassador, Dr. Nasir Mehmood Khan, President MAAP highlighted key achievements of MAAP, including substantial increase in its membership, support to conduct of Japanese Language Proficiency Test twice a year, and conduct of several scientific and cultural activities. He also presented planned activities during the two-year tenure of the Executive Committee, that included establishment of a modern Japanese Language and Cultural Institute in Islamabad and joint activities with institutes of higher learning in Japan, including transfer of Japanese technology for climate resilient buildings, and help to prepare trained and skillful HR for cross border mobility particularly to Japan.

The Ambassador of Japan appreciated the work being undertaken by MAAP to strengthen the bonds between the people of both countries, and assured MAAP of the support of the Embassy of Japan in its endeavors. The oath taking ceremony was also attended by Senator Rukhsana Zuberi, former Chairperson, Pakistan Engineering Council, and Dr. Ghulam Ali, Chairman, Pakistan Agriculture Research Council. Large number of MAAP members also participated in the event and had a lively interaction with the Ambassador and other staff of the embassy after the ceremony.
