In November 2025<\/strong>, Japanese university alumni from across South Asia gathered in Islamabad for the SAFJUAA Reunion <\/strong>\u96c6\u3044 (Tsudoi) 2025<\/strong>, proudly hosted by the Monbukagakusho Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP)<\/strong>. Organized on November 7 & 8 under the leadership of Dr. Nasir M. Khan<\/strong>, President SAFJUAA \/ MAAP, the event brought together scholars, professionals, and leaders united by their academic roots in Japan and their shared commitment to sustainable development in the region.<\/p>\n

The South Asian Federation of Japanese Universities Alumni Associations (SAFJUAA)<\/strong> serves as a dynamic platform connecting alumni from South Asian countries who studied at Japanese universities. With Pakistan currently serving as the Chair, the 2025 Reunion was held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)<\/strong> in Islamabad. The event welcomed representatives from the Embassy of Japan<\/strong>, MAAP members, students interested in Japan, and senior alumni leaders who joined both in person and online.<\/p>\n

  • Japanese Language Speech Contest<\/strong>
    Participants from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal<\/strong> showcased their language skills in a vibrant and engaging competition\u2014one of the most anticipated segments of the Reunion.<\/li>\n
  • South Asia Regional Symposium<\/strong>
    Themed \u201cClimate Resilient Development for Sustainable Environment,\u201d<\/em> the symposium featured research presentations by alumni from Nepal and Pakistan<\/strong>, sparking insightful discussions on environmental sustainability.<\/li>\n
  • Reception Hosted by the Japanese Ambassador<\/strong>
    Delegates were honored with a special dinner hosted by H.E. Akamatsu Shuichi<\/strong>, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, at his official residence\u2014an evening of cultural warmth and camaraderie.<\/li>\n
  • SAFJUAA Board Meeting<\/strong>
    On the final day, leaders of Japanese alumni associations from across South Asia convened under the presidency of Dr. Nasir M. Khan<\/strong> to review ongoing initiatives and plan future collaborative activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After two days of meaningful exchanges, cultural celebration, and strategic dialogue, the SAFJUAA Reunion \u96c6\u3044 2025<\/strong> concluded on 8 November in Islamabad<\/strong>, leaving participants inspired and even more deeply connected in their mission to strengthen Japan\u2013South Asia relations.<\/p>\n
