Oath-Taking Ceremony of Newly Elected MAAP Lahore Chapter Executive Committee
Lahore, September 2, 2026: The MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP), Lahore Regional Chapter, held the Oath-Taking Ceremony of its newly elected Executive Committee for the 2026–2027 term at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore.
The newly elected Executive Committee comprises Dr. Tauseef Aized, Regional Chair; Dr. Khurram Bashir, Vice Regional Chair; Dr. Sophia Ali, Regional Secretary Coordination; Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Awais Rashid, Regional Treasurer; and Dr. Umbreen Us Sahar, Regional Secretary Information.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. AKAMATSU Shuichi, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, as Chief Guest. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Aamir H. Shirazi, Honorary Consul General; Ms. ENDO Takako, First Secretary; Mr. MATSUMOTO Yoshiyuki, Second Secretary; Ms. OKAMOTO Yu and Ms. MATSUTA Megu, Third Secretaries; Mr. Rafay Haleem, Cultural Advisor; and Mr. Muhammad Azeemullah, Security Advisor.
The program commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Japan and an introduction of the participants. Dr. Tauseef Aized, Regional Chair of the MAAP Lahore Chapter, delivered the welcome remarks.
The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking of the newly elected Executive Committee, administered by H.E. Mr. AKAMATSU Shuichi. In his address, the Ambassador congratulated the newly elected members and conveyed his best wishes for their successful tenure. He also appreciated the role of MAAP in promoting educational cooperation and strengthening the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Japan.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the Chief Guest and accompanying officials, followed by refreshments and a group photograph of the newly elected MAAP Lahore Regional Chapter Executive Committee with the Ambassador and distinguished guests.
The beginning of the new term marks another step in MAAP Lahore Chapter’s efforts to promote academic collaboration, research, professional networking, cultural exchange, and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Japan.
